I came to education by an unconventional route, earning my Master’s in Sociology with a focus on data management and institutional research. Alongside my studies, I contracted with local districts and the Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning, and Equity (SCALE) as a key curriculum writer and teacher trainer. As STEAM Director and cofounder of MPASS Education, I design and lead initiatives from STEM Expos to math scavenger hunts to our annual conference, while continuing to develop curriculum that fosters equity, collaboration, and real-world problem solving. Drawing on my sociological background, I ensure every project invites students to connect with one another, see themselves in the work, and apply mathematics as a tool for informed decision-making in their own lives.
